KH3D SPECIAL TRAILER
....
I apologize, not all of this may be coherent.
HOLY FREAKING SHIT.
HOLY. FREAKING. SHIT.
There is so much mindscrewery going on in this trailer. But first. The following image must be produced so I can scream over it.
... XION MEETING SORA. XION MEETING SORA. IF THIS IS LEGIT I NEED THIS GAME IN MY LIFE AND I NEED IT YESTERDAY. This is the thing I have dreamed about for her so much. Even if she doesn't come back... so long as she's just remembered...
AND SHE GETS TO MEET SORA. KH2 SORA. WHICH MEANS THIS ISN'T DREAMWORLD SHE'S MEETING HIM IN.
... /SCREAMING
And that's not even count all the rest of the mindfuckery all throughout this trailer. Who exactly is this young Terrarnort-looking guy? WHY ARE THERE ORGANIZATION COATS EVERYWHERE. XION MEETING SORA. AXEL BECOMING LEA AGAIN. MICKEY AND RIKU FIGHTING ALL THE XEHANORTS IN THE WORLD THAT NEVER WAS. XIGBAR AND SORA. PLUS SOME PICTURES OF SORA SLEEPING IN A CHAIR. KIND OF LIKE VEN DID. AND RIKU TRYING TO WAKE HIM UP (?).
WHAT IS GOING OOOOON.
And... it hasn't even been subbed yet. :'D There'll probably be a whole new set of keysmashing when that happens.
EDIT: All right I'm a little bit calmer and more coherent now. A little bit. Still excited as hell though.
I'm still trying to make sense of all of what was implied in that trailer. Still no subs yet. But... well I'm starting to have very severe suspicions. About a year ago - shortly after I completed Days, I started developing a sort of theory. It started when I'd spoiled myself for Blank Points (BBS's secret ending), looking for information about Xion. At the same time, I read some interview information that Sora's Anti Form is evidence that all the fighting he's been doing is slowly starting to take its toll on his heart. Now, I'm not sure whether or not that's true. But here's the important thing about it.
It planted the idea in my head, that there's a very important reason that these connections, these people - BBS trio, as well as Xion and Roxas and Axel and possibly Naminé too - are suddenly becoming so important. There's a reason that they need to be brought back/saved.
And that's because Sora will soon need those connections to be saved himself.
The fact that all of the people connected to Sora's heart were shown at the end - Aqua and Terra, Naminé and Xion, Kairi and Riku, even what looks like Ven and Vanitas... only serves to support this theory, for me.
Regardless of that, whether my theory is right or wrong, one of the things that is really, really exciting for me is how everything is beginning to draw together. People have been complaining that a bunch of the side games - Days, Birth by Sleep, re:coded and so on - are nothing more than filler, meant to milk the Kingdom Hearts franchise for as many dollars as possible. While there may be elements of truth to the latter in particular - Square Enix is a business, after all - they're not just filler. They're foundation. Nomura needed so much time, had so much ground to cover, all to prepare for the story of the true end of Xehanort. And now things are starting to come together. Pieces are fitting into place. Threads of plotlines and storylines are starting to weave together. J.K. Rowling once described Books 6 and 7 of the Harry Potter series as the two halves of the end, or at least something to that effect.
This is the beginning of the end.
EDIT 2: SUBTITLES ARE OUT.
So it looks like Sora will be finding out about his heartbuddies/heartchildren. He seemed so upset at the idea, poor kid... I mean... not surprised at all, but it's still one thing to know he'll be upset, and another to see his face and hear how unhappy he sounds.
Someone on my plurklist - I forget who said it, and it's looking eerily accurate - whatever Young Xehanort is saying, whenever he's speaking to Riku, his words have little to no effect. With Sora, meanwhile... the effect is much more profound. And that leaves Sora very, very vulnerable, especially without his friends at his side to help keep him steady. Friends do have a power, even when they're not present, but there's only so much mental manipulation anybody - even Sora - can stand up to on their own, and Xehanort has proved a mast of manipulating things in his favor, if nothing else.
AND NOW OBLIGATORY SPAZZ. I love the Days trio. So much. The scene, where Roxas is talking to Axel... He tells Axel "You promised us, right? No matter how many times we left, you'd always be there to bring us back." First of all, he said us, not me. Us including Xion. This, coupled along with the fact that Axel never SAID that line to Roxas - only to Xion - so the only way Roxas would know is if he's spoken to Xion since they both rejoined Sora, or their memories mingled a little in Sora's heart (I'm inclined to think the latter myself). But then he pulls out Axel's own line, "Got it memorized?" And then Axel - Lea - wakes up, and sees that he's a real person again, not a Nobody anymore. And just... the logical progression of that progression of scenes... it just gives you the overwhelming feeling that Axel/Lea still has a mission. He still has to bring Roxas and Xion back. And now, as a "real thing," (for lack of a better way of putting it) he has so much more ability to do so.
All this on top of other things - Xigbar (or is it Braig now?) talking to Sora the way he did to Xion and Ven... the idea that Sora and Riku are in enough danger that help needs to be sent after them...
I don't think I'm going to be able to wait until the English release for this one. I always knew that was a possibility, especially if Xion was involved. But now I'm almost sure. There's... there's just too much going on here, and it's too important, and I want to know too badly.
I'm not going to say much else right now. I'm too incoherent.
... I don't think I'm going to be sleeping tonight though.
Edit: I didn't. |D
